The Orang Sungai — which means River People in Malay — primarily reside in villages scattered along the Kinabatangan River in Sabah [1].  Formerly traditional fishermen and loggers, the Orang Sungai are now viable farmers who are also renowned for being skilled bird nest collectors [2].    

 

By sponsoring trees through the Bridges Plants Trees initiative , you are supporting the Orang Sungai community. Members of the community grow and supply saplings of over 30 native species of trees, and plant and maintain these saplings.
